I have improved the W irons by making them less clunky. The rocking W iron should be printed on its side with supports, the fixed on can be printed upside down without supports. I have also produced a one piece brake unit including operating lever and rack. This needs to be printed on its back with supports - I don't know how possible this is with filament. In resin, try to avoid putting the supports in contact with the brake components. There is also an improved axlebox and spring item, and W irons of different dimentions which can be printed flat side down.

This is a support arm which is designed to support the bottom of the brake lever rack. It can be screwed to the bottom of the brake lever rack and the other end screwed into the base of the axle box. Ideally with glue as well. Obviously this is not prototypical as normally the rack would be braced from the W iron but because of the compensation this does not work.

This is an alternative brake lever rack with a built in arm to support it against the bottom of the axlebox. This prints very nicely on my resin printer, but not on the FDM machine hence the separate part for that.

I have replaced the brake lever rack with a stronger version. There is also a brake lever rack support arm which is designed to support the bottom of the rack. It can be screwed to the bottom of the brake lever rack and the other end screwed into the base of the axle box. Obviously this is not prototypical as normally the rack would be braced from the W iron but because of the compensation this does not work.
