SER 4 Wheel Horsebox Dia 536

Zip archve

Four wheel horsebox with groomsman compartment built by the SER on an 8'6" wheelbase chassis. Would have likely later been modified by the SECR to have brakes or at least through-piped. These units were used into SR service and were more numerous than the 6-wheel design. Drawn in 10mm scale

Roof - print standing on end with a decent brim - put the end without the square hole in it down lowest. 0.2mm layer height should be fine with support touching the buildplate only.

Print upside down (the top is the end with the dimples closest to the edge) ideally at 0.12 layer height. This is aligned with the square peg file which will also locate the top part of the vent.

Print 100% infill with 8% support on 'touching baseplate only' mode. Take care when separating from support and superglue to body as shown in the picture of the wagon underside.

Print face up at 100% infill. hole is sized for Slater's brass bearing. Use Slaters S9142G wheels (Mansell 3'7" coach wheels). Slide onto w-irons and super-glue in place.

print 100% infill and superglue to bottom of w-iron as per image

Single piece body. Ideally print with 0.12 or 0.16 layer height. Will need a decent brim to hold it to the print bed (otherwise will lift in corners) and may need support (I used 8% support touching the printbed only and no-where else)
